If there’s one thing that I’m passionate about, it’s informing all about topics that aren’t discussed enough in society. It’s always one thing to get people to talk about chiropractic care on babies and children. However, chiropractic care while being pregnant is even less talked about.
That’s shocking to me because those 9 months can be vital to the mom’s health during pregnancy, after pregnancy, and it’s helpful for the baby as well.
The most obvious answer to whether getting adjusted during pregnancy is safe or not is YES!
The body obviously goes through a lot of changes during pregnancy. These changes affect the alignment of the spine. Changes such as protruding abdomen, posture changes, increased back curve, pelvic changes, and even groin pain.
So what does chiropractic care do for these changes you ask?
When the body is properly aligned, there is more room for your baby to fully develop. This is going to also decrease the stress on your body.
When working with a pregnant woman, the adjustment table is adjusted to be positioned correctly for the mom’s body. Then special techniques are used that the chiropractor is specially trained for. Not only will special techniques be used but when specially trained for pregnancy, your chiropractor will be able to provide more at home techniques to use for stretching and exercises.
